Nuts and Bolts

The practical things you need to do before you start

Things to do start a business

Starting a business is easy

Yep, you heard me right! Starting a business is usually a pretty simple process. Virtually anyone can do it.

This year, millions of people around the world will start their very own business. Some of them will go on to create incredibly successful and valuable businesses.

Most will not.

Some of them, with the passage of time, will wish they never did. Just because you “can” doesn’t mean you “should”.

There is so much to do!

Remember when I said it was easy to start a business? That’s true……..but……

There is a difference between merely doing the minimum required to “officially” start your business and setting yourself up with the best chance of success.

When you’ve made the decision to leap into Business for yourself, you’ll be confronted with a lot of boxes to tick.

On the surface, many of these items are quite simple.

You don’t need to be an expert. You don’t need a College degree.

Things like choosing a Business name, registering it with the appropriate authorities and picking an Accounting system aren’t all that tough to do.

However, without the right amount of thought and planning, mistakes at this stage of your business journey can impact on you later.

Success is more likely when the little things are done well

The fact is that sustainable business growth rarely if ever happens by accident.

It actually starts before the business itself even exists.

It takes a lot of planning, a solid strategy and laser focus on the business’ customers and target market.

From there add in a lot of hard work, great people, persistence, resilience, a lot of expert advice and some luck.

And…..taking care of the “nuts and bolts”. That is making sure that the seemingly basic or mundane elements of the business’ setup and operations are done well.

The stuff

In this section, we’ll be talking about lots of the things you need to do between the time you made the decision to start a business and your 1st day as a Business owner.
